This project was to create an informative and visually appealing brochure of Lowes Creative Workshop. This piece required to be a 4 page folded brochure with 3 hole punch; to come up with a logo/word type for the name. The brochure will be for the woodworking plans for a child’s rocking horse. The body copy, a sketch of the plans and cut plans for the wood were to be supplied. I had to lay out the brochure to the best of what I thought it should look like. My responsibility was to layout the brochure and build a design concept for the overall look. I had to take the sketch for the plans and re-create the plan at 200% of original size for accuracy. Then I incorporated the plans into my design. I was responsible for type formatting and layout, and designing a grid system for the 4 pages. The running head had to be laid out at the top of pages 2/3/4 and the bottom with the Lowe's logo must appear on all pages. All had to be done in InDesign. I must have all information to appear in the brochure in regards to text, diagrams, visuals and layout.This project was completed in the first year of the graphic design program. This project was very challenging to me because I was not familiar with illustrator and InDesign. I tried to figure out how to do it by searching on the web and Adobe books. I had to spend 46 hours to complete the project and was very happy with this result.
